them
On:

<Main Bridge>
Scott: *Walks over to the Captain.* Sir. A moment?
Roper: Certainly, step into my ready room, or.... what's left of it.
Scott: I full heartedly accept the duties and responsiblities of the Cheif Engineer Position. I await
your final decision.
Roper: *takes out a pip and put's it on scott's shirt* You are officially the Chief Engineer.
Scott: If you need me I will be on Holodeck 23. Running a simulation of some historic battles.
Roper: Alright, after that I want you to get to work on our repairs *walks back out onto the bridge*
Alan: Captian weapons array comming back online and shields at 10% But the aft phasers are
fried they will need to be refited at the nearest starbase. The aft shields are only at 5%.
Roper: Understood, keep working on the shields.
If anyone needs me I'l be in my ready room.

First officer's log stardate 57459.2: This is my first log entry as
first officer of the Rainmaker. It seems that I am still getting used
to the position, wearing a red uniform instead of a yellow and
telling the turbolift "main bridge" instead of "main engineering".
Just this afternoon I caught myself heading to engineering when I was
about to go on duty. The uniform isn't all too comfortable either. I
guess I 'll have to "wear it in".
I've been putting most of my free time in delegating repair work and
resheduling duties all over the ship. Hell I've even got my hands
dirty a few times too, guess old habits are hard to let go of. We
have a total of 18 dead and 31 wounded. Because of the loss in
personel everyone is pulling double shifts to get this ship as fixed
as we possibly can, half the systems are offline including artificial
gravity in some areas of decks 5 and 6. Replicators have been taken
offline to conserve power and everyone is "enjoying" their field
rashions.
Ever since the fights in engineering (and not to mention my
promotion) I have been seriously thinking about my hand-to-hand
combat abilities (or lack thereof). I plan on asking Ensign Alan for
some more formal training. I want to be ready for every situation and
show to the Captain that he made the right decision.

Off: Alright as far as voting goes you can vote once a day so get to it!
http://www.tf86.org/phpvote/votes.php about the starbase... I never got a reply from the co there
so we will npc the starbase, Everyone who still has posts to reply to can backpost. If we get a
good posting rate going here we will do a little something special before our next real "mission"
which will begin after winter break. Ohh and don't forget to check out our website.. I'm making a
couple new sections. Now let's get posting again!
On:
<USS Rainmaker>
<Captains Ready Room>
Drakos: =/\= Sir we have arrived at starbase 565 =/\=
Roper: =/\= Understood, on my way =/\=
*walking out onto the bridge*
Roper: Ensign pendragon would you care to take us in?
<Tag Pendragon>
Roper: Alright now you are all granted shorelieve, you have access to the starbases facilities.
*as the bridge clears out, Jake grab's a book and heads out to the starbase*
<later>
<Starbase 565>
<Admiral's Ready Room>
Thompson(npc): Naturally Jake, just naturally.... I tell you that she is a good ship so you should
take good care of her, and what do you do? You break her and send her back to me for repairs.
Roper: Yes sir, it would appear that that was what happened.
Thompson: I'm sure our strategic operations officer will want to know everything about this new
species.
Roper: Aye sir, I'l go talk to him
*turning to exit the room*
Thompson: Ohh and Jake,
Roper: Yes sir?
Thompson: It's nice to see you again
Roper: Yes sir.. It's nice to be back
<even later>
<Starbase 565>
<Strategic Ops Room>
Roper: Their ship was similar to a klingon warbird, however it is organic, and alive. From what we
were able to tell they have no beam weapons of any kind, they rely on their plasma-like torpedoes
which do heavy damadge. As for the species themselves, their head is serpent like, the closest
relation would be the selay, but they move in a cat-like motion. That is all we were able to tell
about them, we may have found out more but they took out our sensors.
Andersen(npc strategic ops): Thank you for your time sir.
Roper: I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help
<fast forward>
<Starbase 565>
<Mess Hall>
Jake sits down, and begins to think of all the things that happened during this mission, and he
gets lost in thought
sir..... sir? SIR?
Jake looks up
Bartender: Sir are you ok?
Roper: Yes I'm fine thank you
Bartender: Can I get you something?
Roper: Get me a scotch,
Bartender: We only have Synthehol
Roper: Then get me a synthehol scotch!
Bartender: Here you go sir.
Roper: Thank you
Jake drinks it and lets the synthehol take it's full effect.

This is Commodore Tenson of the USS Tornado (But do call me Captain... I'm not commodore
yet in the story). I've been talking with your Captain about the upcoming Join Mission "A
Betazoid's Wedding" but than we thought why wait. I'm hereby welcoming you all to "Let there be
no Borg!" The story is based on the ex-Borg admiral Janeway saved from "Unamatrix Zero". After
"End Game" the collective suffer a great lost to their ships and turned on these ex-Borgs and their
ex-Borg ships. The Collective somehow found a way to create a master overwrite key and take
control of the ex-Borgs. The Tornado's mission is to destroy the master overwrite key and freed
the ex-Borgs.
You can find more information on the Tornado at http://usstornado.maantokcreations.ca/ Like I
said to everyone... check out the tour ;) (Make sure you know who Tori is) For those of you who
have time for a second or third character... I welcomes you all... *Got kicked by Captain Roper*
Sorry... sorry... I will try not to do that... LOL...
Anyways... I think we'll have a great time simming together... I thrown together the major point
that happened on this mission for you ;) and will be adding you all to the Tornado's mailing list
soon ;)
Enough talks... here's the major plot point. The Rainmaker come out in the red section ;)
ON: <Bridge, USS Tornado>
"Walter, you won't believe this but we were just contacted by the Borg." Admiral Valt began.
"They say they're no longer a part of the collective and request a meeting with Admiral Janeway
and Seven of Nine."
"Hmm... interesting... if you ask me though admiral... I think it might be a plot to get admiral
Janeway back for what she did." Walter replied.
"My thought exactly, but admiral Janeway insisted on going." Admiral Valt replied helplessly.
"I'm assigning the Tornado back to Earth to escort the Admrial and Seven of Nine to the meetings
and some upgrades."
<Fast Forward>
"We've entered long rang scanner rang." Tori reported beside Tenson.
"Admiral Janeway to the bridge, also all senior officers report to the bridge." Tenson tapped his
combadge.
"Captain, If they're not who admiral Janeway say they are..." Tori left the word unspoken.
"We will not getting out of this alive... I know." Tenson finished. "Let's just hope they are who
they said they are."
<Sultok POV>
The worst problem was that the armor sealed of everything, which made some systems cease
functioning after a while. In short, too make full use of propulsion, they couldnt use the armor. He
just had to hope, if he could hope that the captain knew what he was doing. The problem there
was that the captain indeed knew what he was doing and didnt seem happy about it. In short,
Sultok didnt estimate their chaces of succes high if something went wrong.
Experience told him there was always -something- that went wrong.
<Fast Forward>
<Briefing Room, USS Tornado>
The senior officer sat in the usual seat with Tenson to one side and admiral Janeway at
another. The Klingon name Kork sat to the right of her. "After admiral Janeway's action... the Borg
lost many ships which cannot be quickly replaced."
"So suddenly your ship became very valuable." Admiral Janeway finished for the General.
"Yes, Captain... I mean Admiral." Kork nodded. "We've already lost more than ten ships to the
Borg and I do not know how long the rest can hold up."
<Fast Forward>
<Bridge, USS Tornado>
The ship rocked under Tenson as red alert siren went up. "We'll finish this latter." Tenson stood
up and headed for the bridge.
"Report." Tenosn ordered.
"One of the Borg ship just fired on us. Shield is holding." The Ops officer replied.
"Evasive maneuvers" Tenson ordered and took his seat. "Hail the General."
"No response."
"Well... keep trying." Tenson ordered as the ship rocked once more.
"Shield down 12%."
"Tori, get me Sultok." Tenson ordered.
"No need..." Tori replied. "He's hailing us."
"Mr. Sultok, I hope you can explain what's happening." Tenson asked.
"It appears that the collective has a master overwrite code transceiver for the vessel." Sultok
replied.
"Why hasn't the collective activated that before now than?"
"It was destroyed when the ex-Borgs took over the ship." Sultok stated in his calm Vulcan voice.
"It is only logical to assume that it had been fixed."
"Can you shut it down?"
"I'm afraid there's nothing I can do until I find the source."
<Fast Forward>
"Captain." Tori put a hand on Tenson's shoulder.
Tenson turned to Tori. "Yes?"
She eyed the readyroom.
"Admiral, you mind watching the bridge for a bit." Tenson stood up. "I'll be in my readyroom if
you need me." He stated and walked into the readroom.
"What do you have?" Tenson walked to the replicator and grabbed himself a cup of iced tea.
"I believe I have a way to disconnect the Collective's subspace link to the Cube." Tori answered
and turned on the holo-projectors in the readroom. The ready room darkened to be replaced by
starfields. Tenson walked around the holographic Cube and Tornado not far off from the Cube.
"The red light is where the Cube's subspace transceiver is and the green the master overwrite
transceiver." Two lights flashed from inside the Cube. "As you can see... the master overwrite key
is way too far into the Cube for us to touch, but the subspace transceiver is just ten decks deep."
"So we need to blast ten decks off the Cube..." Tenson echoed
"Unlikely..." Tori replied dryly. "The Cube will finish us long before we punch through."
"Than." Tori stopped Tenson and pointed at the holographic Tornado.
The Holographic Tornado turned towards the Cube and pick up speed. The Cube fired a few
shot but the Tornado kept coming. Tenson know what's coming a second before it happened. He
watched in horror as the Tornado rammed into the cube.
"You're ramming yourself into the Cube?" Tenson stated shocked.
"If you look closely, the subspace transceiver is destroy." Tori replied. "And if we seal up the
front ten sections and boosted the Structure Integrity Fields. There's a good chance that we'll all
walk out of this alive."
"How good a chance?" Tenson asked.
"65%" Tori responded after a moment. "Give or take 5%"
<Fast Forward>
<Bridge, USS Tornadon>
"The installation of tritanium support beams are at 73%." Tori reported. "Structure Integrity
booster installation have just started. Estimated time to finished 32 minutes 12.63 seconds."
"Modification to the weapons pod?" Tenson asked.
<Just so everyone know... Akira Class weapon pod can be detached and exchanged for sensor
pod depending on the mission... and is located on top of the ship>
"Done. They will have at least 45 hours of life support in there." Tori reported. "The question
you should be asking is will it hold all 235 people."
"Will it?"
"No, but we've attached escape pods onto it." Tori bring out a holographic view of the work
been done on the weapon's pod. "It will not be comfortable but we will be able to fit them all."
"I see." Tenson replied. "Good work."
"It wasn't my idea." Tori supplies. "You have a great crew."
"But with the weapon pod gone. I'm afraid that there's now a 36% likelihood that I'll imploded
onto myself." Tori stated half jokingly.
"Well... at least I will go down with the best ship in the fleet." Tenson joked.
<Last Fast Forward>
The Borg were comming, again. Sultok wished he had kept some marines to aid them. They
hadn't been able to keep controll of the ship. Forcefields were already blocking some of the
passages and one console had suddenly overloaded.
In his mind Sultok tried to remember everything he knew about the borg. Huge databases he
read flooded his mind. Pickards encounter, they let them sleep. Kill the queen. All useless.
Subspace transceiver! To overwrite the drones and the ship, they had to communicate!
Sultok turned to a remaining console, checked, double checked, and nodded.
Sultok: "you five, come. Look here. There is the main subspace tranceiver, You two will come
with me, its only twenty meters from here. You three, choose another person and take out the
backup system."
<Bridge, USS Tornado>
"Tori get me the closest ship on subspace." Tenson ordered.
"Aye." Tori closed her eyes for a moment... "Captain Roper of the USS Rainmaker." The
veiwscreen jumped to the face of a young captain.
"Captain." Tenson gretted. "How fast can you get here?" He didn't have time to be nice...
<tag>
"Good. The Tornado will be expecting you guys." Tenson stated. or at least her crew will.
<TAG>
Tenson relay everything that has happened to Roper. "So we need someone to tow us back to
a starbase I guess."
<TAG>
"Thank you Captain." Tenson replied. "Tornado out."
OFF: Let's start the fun... I'll write you guys in... so before that please post on the rainmaker's

(By this time Johnathan was nock out so he does know)
Roper: Well, at the last possible second the excelsior responded to our distress call and
transported us out. With the amount of damadge we had already done to their ship the excelsior
scared them away. Where they are now is anyone's guess
*at that point he was interupted by a young ensign*

Cheif Engineer's Log. Stardate 44537.1 The USS Rainmaker has sustained alot of damage from
our earlier contact with that alien race. And that permenant scar on my back is always there to
remind me. *Looking at the purple heart on my wall.* I have assesed the damage on board the
Rainmaker, and working double shifts I still have 2 weeks work ahead of me. And thats being
nice. I can only thank the crew of the Excelsior, and the hard work and quick thinking of our crew
for our survival. And to those who didn't survive. My promotion to Chief Engineer of a Intrepid
class has come as a surprise. And under quick measures. Although I am more fimiliar with the
Sovereign and Defiant layouts, a starship is a starship. And with my knowledge of technology, I
will have this ship running in tip top shape. Anyways, back to the subject. The ship is heavily
damaged, and is being held together by a thread. All of the warp transconduits are blown, the
Impulse fusion reactors are all but destroyed, all conduits on decks 3-12 are blown to hell and
back, and shields will not be back for a looong time, and the warp core is useless. But hey, we are
alive.
I walk down the hallway to turbolift 4, I walk right up to the door, and straight into it. I yell ouch, and
about 10 people come running out of their quarters...
*I think to myself* "Was I THAT loud?!"
I pry the door open.
Scott: Main Engineering.
It was a rough...and weird....ride to main Engineering.
I walk into main engineering, and it looks like a Quantum Torpedo went off in there. It was a
mess.......

Drakos sits at his desk in his assigned quarters at the starbase, looking through the damage
reports of the Rainmaker. Looking for new personel to hand over to the captain for approval.
There were many open positions on the Rainmaker now.
Most of the Rainmaker's primary and secondary systems were almost completely repaired. Even
with that she didn't look so great. Needed a new paint job.
Roper: =/\= Roper to Drakos Assemble the crew tell them to pack there bags and get going, I
want everyone on the rainmaker in 10 minuetes no exeptions! =/\=
The sudden order startled Drakos.
Drakos:=/\= Uhh... I sir, I'll get right on it.=/\= =/\= Drakos to all Rainmaker crew, everyone is to
report back to their posts on the Rainmaker immediately. You have 5 minutes to pack and head
back.=/\=
Drakos goes over to his bed and pulls up his travel bag from underneath. He starts shoving all his
belongings into the bag as fast as he could. No time for neatness. He then makes his way to the
nearest transporter room.
Drakos: Chief beam me to the Rainmaker and beam my baggage to room B4 on deck 2.
Transporter Chief (NPC): Aye sir, energizing.

Drakos: Sir, may I ask what's going on? We aren't fully repaired yet.
Roper: Yes, I am sorry about this but I have just heard it myself. Apparently Captain Tenson the
commanding Officer of the USS Tornado needs help. And even though our ship is damadged no
other ship is close enough to get there in less than 3 days, Which i'm afraid would be far too late.
Admiral Janeway is with them, they were trying to negociate with some of the ex borg that she
freed when they were attacked. They can't hold out much longer and if we don't get there soon
enough they may be forced to do a most desperate plan.

They haven't been fully introduced to the ship or their duties and we still have a lot of vacancies.
But we can still do this.
