Off: There are a few things that you should know about posting.... so il put them here to avoid
confusion.
The following are symbols and terminology you will need to know, if there are more then one way
of writing something listed then either way is acceptable, just choose whichever you prefer.
Obviously not every way possible will be listed, and we are flexible about your style of posting, but
please try to adhere generally to these guidelines and format....
To Indicate Location:
<<USS Agamemnon Bridge>>
< Holodeck 3 >
USS GALAXY
< SICKBAY >
It is generally assumed that the posts follow in chronological order--when you post the action
takes place immediately after the previous post. You may write a post that takes place at a
different time or at the same time, or later - We are flexible like that, but you need to Indicate
WHEN the action is occurring if it is not immediately following! It should also have SOMETHING
to do with the plot or
sub-plot.
To Indicate Time and Location:
< USS Yorktown Bridge, two hours later >
<<At the same time, on Holodeck 3>>
LATER THAT DAY IN SICKBAY
USS GEORGE WASHINGTON, 0900 HOURS
If your post takes place over a long period of time, you may also apply the same principal within
your post by just specifying the time if the location does not change.
To Indicate Time:
<<2100 Hours>>
LATER THAT NIGHT
< After the Battle >
HOURS EARLIER
A word of warning!!!! You may not decide to change the actions of someone else's character by
predating your posts!!! (I.E. You can't decide you really don't want to have dinner with the
Ambassador and predate a post sending your character on a shuttle mission off ship! That is
destructive to the flow of the story. You CAN write a post that explains why your character cannot
remain where they are. For
example if Admiral Coast-Endas wanted to escape a formal dinner, but found himself stuck in one
he might post that his wife became ill and he had to leave -(who knows, he might even bribe the
CMO for something like that! )
To indicate Actions:
*Coast-Endas blows up the ship*
( Admiral Bremer punches Admiral Brice's duplicate! )
You may also use a brief paragraph to describe a series of actions that would not include spoken
text, but since we try to follow a script style format in this, we keep Dialogue in script style. A
paragraph of action would be as follows;
"Garak backs off from Vash but still doesn't want to leave. He wanders into Narrelle's office and
looks around. The flowers on her desk from their wedding have wilted but are still pretty. Garak
sits in her chair and fidgets with the items around her desk. After a while a nurse peeks around
the doorway."
(NOTE: The quotes are not necessary and are merely there so that you can see what is the action
part. Actions in this manner can be inserted into the story as an ordinary paragraph with no extra
markings.)
An action may also be inserted into a line of dialogue. The following is an example...
To Indicate Action while Speaking:
K'Temoc: Good Morning Admiral Jarovik, I hope all is well. *sitting in his chair* Anything new in
the reports?
(NOTE: If your action is going to take more than a few words it is best to separate it into another
line to make it easier to read.)
To Indicate you are no longer writing in the mission:
OFF:
Off:
An "Off" is where we note different things like additions to the crew, mailing list difficulties, or even
personal messages to one another! (Remember about the personal messages thing however that
the entire ship reads those and if you really do have something to say please just send an E-mail
to them. Announcing Birthdays and the like is fine however!) Just remember that an "Off" is NOT
part of the story.
To Indicate You ARE Writing in the mission:
ON:
On:
An "ON" means all text in this section IS part of the mission.
Indicates opening or closing of comm badges:
+Tap+
*TAPS*
=/\=TAPS=/\=
=/\=(what you're saying)=/\=
For Example:
Leadon: =/\=Leadon to Bridge=/\=
And speech is indicated in script format... like below.
Brunel: Hello Admiral Bremer!
Bremer: Captain, good day.
Also remember to double space between lines of text, makes it easier to read!
At the end of each post put your Rank, Name, Position and ship
like this... it will be easier if you just make a signature for your mail...

OFF: Well here goes for the first post...
ON:
<Starbase 565 - Shuttle bay>
<A starbase crewman to Markos>
Crewman: Sir the bio-neural gel packs are loaded onto the Danube
class runabout as well as the other items on the list. Too bad we
can't transport this stuff onto the ship since they're so unstable
and complex for the transporters.
The crewman handed the datapad over to Markos
Markos: Yeah, but we need the runabout anyway so this way we can test
it out.
The creman nodded and left. Markos looked out to the ship. She looked
absolutely beautiful. Folding nacels, sleek streamlined shape,
weaponry and all. She would be his home for next many years....
hopefully.
T'Ral (a starbase technician) : =^= Commander T'Ral to Lt. Drakos we
require your assistance onboard the Rainmaker, in engineering. There
are some minor fluctuations in the impulse drive.=^=
Markos: =^= I'm on my way with a runabout and some shipments I'll be
there in a few minutes, Drakos out=^=. Cheif Anderws and Crewman
Santos its time to take the runabouts onboard. Andrews you take the
Delta Flyer class with Crewman Allemmenan and Santos you're with me
on the Danube class.
Santos and Andrews nodded and got into the shuttles. Markos followed
Santos into the runabout and took a seat at ops.
Santos: Begin departure procedures. Evacuate the floor. Open shuttle
bays. Engaging impulse engines. =^= Santos to Andrews we are ready to
take off, just follow us =^=
Andrews: =^= Roger that Santos, lead the way =^=
The two shuttles lift up off the platform and head for the exit, with
the Danube leading and the Delta flyer following. They exit the
shuttle bay and about half way to the Rainmaker's shuttle bay
something happens to the Danube.
(turbulence on the Danube)
Santos to Markos: Sir inertial dampers are malfunctioning. The cargo
we're carrying doesn't like to be shaken.
Markos: We haven't even got aboard the ship and we already have
problems. =^= Lt Drakos to Rainmaker we have a problem with the
inertial dampers, I'm attempting to fix it =^=
T'Ral: =^=Keep us informed Lt. =^=
Markos: =^= Aye sir =^=
Markos turns around and pulls out some panels he takes some equipment
out of a diagnostics kit nearby and quickly goes to work. Moments
later he reinserts the panels and presses a few controls. The
runabout stops shaking.
Santos: =^= Santos to Rainmaker, problem is fixed and we are ready to
dock =^=
T'Ra: =^= We copy Santos, bring it in. =^=
<<Aboard the Rainmaker in engineering>>
<Turbo lift opens and out walks Markos>
Markos: Commander T'Ral, what seems to be the problem?
T'Ral: We were trying to do a pretest on the impulse engines,
everything was going fine until we encountered the fluctuations which
later blew out half the power relays on deck 13 and we lost impulse
drive. We have attempted to locate the problem but were unsuccessful.
Markos: Let's have a look.
<Several long, dirty, sweaty hours later>
Markos: Try it now.
<Impuse engines go online>
Markos: Ok, they work shut her down. My shift was over a few hours
ago, I need a shower. Goodnight guys.
Markos went to the turbolift.
Markos: Deck 2.
Markos finally got to his room and looked around. There were no
tables installed yet and thus there were also no chairs or many other
furnishings for that matter, there was a bed and the bathroom was
almost ready, there was to mirror yet. Markos sat on the edge of the
bed.
Markos to himself: There is still so much that needs to be done.
Tomorrow is going to be a very long day...

Off:
Here's my first post. And it's pretty long. : P
On:
---
<USS Rainmaker>
<Armory - Deck 5>
Rakuru Sigwin strode past the rows of polished weapons in the
Armory. Carefully he picked up and examined every one.
Sometimes he had to adjust the settings slightly, and then move on,
picking up the next, looking it over carefully, and then
perhaps tweaking it before moving on.
As he came to the end of the weapons he turned to Ensign Maverick
(NPC, the young Ensign who is assigned to the Armory), who managed
the weapons. He had a grim face and didn't look too happy.(His
Vulcan side
showing.)
Rakuru: Ensign, where are the Personal Torpedo Launchers I requested?
Maverick: Please excuse the delay, sir. They are being prepared for
transportation now.
Rakuru: We had better receive them before un-docking.
Maverick: Aye sir. They should be beamed directly to Lower Cargo Bay
2 in a few moments, we'll have them ready as soon as possible.
Rakuru: Excellent. That should do, Ensign.
Rakuru walked out of the Armory and onto the turbolift. Just before
the turbolift doors closed, Private Benson, a marine that
Lt. Sigwin has his eyes on, hurried aboard. He looked at Rakuru, who
nodded as Benson looked at him.
Benson: Mess Hall.
Rakuru: Greetings Private. I hope you are growing accustomed to the
ship.
Benson: Yes sir.
Rakuru: We'll be able to start training soon, if all goes well.
Benson: Aye sir. I'm looking forward to it.
Rakuru nods.
Rakuru: That's the attitude. I'm sure you'll be a valuable asset to
our team.
Benson: Thank you sir.
As the turbolift reached Deck 6, the durable doors slid open. Rakuru
nodded goodbye to Benson and then watched him until the
doors once again slid shut.
Rakuru: Bridge.
The turbolift silently rose, and as it reached the top deck, Rakuru
stepped off and walked toward the captain.
Rakuru: 1st Lt. Rakuru Sigwin, Marine Commanding Officer, reporting
sir. The weapons and other equipment are up to my standards, my men
stand by to defend this ship and her fine crew with our lives, if
need be.
<Tag Captain Roper>
Maverick: =/\= Ensign Maverick to Lt. Sigwin. The torpedo launchers
have been beamed into Lower Cargo Bay Two, sir. =/\=
Rakuru: =/\= Aye, I'll be right down. =/\=
Rakuru: If you'll excuse me, sir, I believe I have some work to do.
Rakuru saluted Captain Roper and headed for the turbolift. As the
doors slid shut, he admired the bridge of the Rainmaker
once more.
Rakuru: Lower Cargo Bay Two.
As the turbolift glided smoothly through the network of tunnels,
heading toward Lower cargo Bay Two, he thought about how
everything was running so smoothly. 'After sorting through these
launchers,' he thought, 'I'll be able to being planning the
training exercises.'
Rakuru stepped off and quickly headed for the Cargo Bay. As he
stepped in he saw Maverick and a number of other crewmen
leaning over the launchers scanning them with tricorders. Maverick
stood up, and walked toward him.
Maverick: Everything appears to be in order, sir.
Rakuru walked over to the launchers and examined them carefully.
After a few silent moments of intent examination, he
finally stood up and walked over to Maverick.
Rakuru: Good, they should suit us well. However, I noticed one
problem. They could be aligned a bit more for optimum range
and force.
Maverick nodded.
Maverick: Of course sir, we're on it.
Rakuru: Good, good. Just try to hurry up.
Maverick: We'll do our best.
Rakuru walked out of his room and into the turbolift.
Rakuru: Deck Two.
Rakuru stepped out of the turbolift as soon as it had stopped, and
he hurried to his room. He'd be busy later, so he decided to make an
entry in his personal log in case he just didn't have the time later.
Rakuru: Aye.
Rakuru sighed.
Rakuru: Lots of work to do tonight.
Rakuru walked into his room and sat down on the sofa. he would be
comfortable while he could. He relaxed for a moment before
beginning his log.
Rakuru: 1st Lt. Rakuru Sigwin's Personal Log:
Rakuru paused.
Rakuru: Everything is proceeding as planned. I have been caught in
the bustle of preparing for our maiden voyage, however
things are beginning to calm down. Besides the torpedo launchers
arriving late, everything has been going smoothly. And even
that is resolved as of now. I eagerly await our voyage, and also
seeing what my marines can do. They seem skilled and
qualified, however they appear fresh out of training, and I do not
yet know how they will handle themselves in the heat of
real combat. I suppose only time will tell. Until then I have a bit
more preparing to do, and I must plan drills to keep our
marines in top shape.
Again, Rakuru paused. He couldn't think of anything else to add. But
that could just be because he was too busy to think in
detail about these things. 'No, no.' he reasoned, 'I don't have time
for this, there's work to be done. I should check on
those launchers.'
Rakuru: End log.
Rakuru walked out of his quarters, walking over to the turbolift. He
stepped on, deep in thought about the training he would
begin on tomorrow.
Rakuru: Armory.
The turbolift zipped to deck 5, he walking into the Armory, seeing
Maverick looking over a datapad. he walked over to
Maverick, who looked up.
Rakuru: Are the launchers in place?
Maverick: Aye sir. Adjusted as you requested and everything.
Rakuru walked over the the Armory racks, once empty, now where the
magnificent launchers stood. They were large weapons of
destruction, which power was unrivaled among the Armory. Rakuru
picked one up and examined it. Everything was in tip-top
shape, ready for use. Rakuru turned to Ensign Maverick, slightly
grinning. 'He has a touch for weapons.' he thought happily
to himself.
Rakuru: Good job. Excellent work, Ensign.
Maverick: Thank you sir.
Rakuru: Yes, yes. Of course.
Rakuru stood up straight, attempting to hide the joy he felt. He
could not remember seeing such a well equipped, organized
Armory in his service for the Federation. He could not wait to begin
this great new journey, on this great new ship. The
Rainmaker...
Rakuru: Is everything else in order?
Maverick looked down at the datapad in his hand.
Maverick: Aye sir. I was just checking the inventory when you
arrived. Everything's secure and ready. Is it up to your
standards, sir?
Rakuru smiled at this.
Rakuru: Yes, of course. You've done a fine job.
Maverick looked down at his datapad, blushing slightly at this
compliment.
Maverick: Thank you sir. I'm glad that my work meets your standards.
Rakuru: Yes. I have full confidence in you being in care of this
armory. Important job. Not for anyone, you know.
Maverick: Thank you. I'll do my best.
Rakuru: Then I'm sure you'll do just fine. I'm off now, I have some
things to do. I hope to see you soon.
Maverick smiled.
Maverick: Aye sir.
---
Rakuru walked over to the lounge. He walked over to the replicator
and then had some trouble deciding what to drink. His mind
was crowded with stress from the preparation of the ship, and as a
result, all other mind functions were second priority.
'Hm...' he thought, 'Bah... I don't have time to think about
beverages.' His face was emotionless. 'I'll just take an old
Earth classic. I hear it's supposed to be good.' Finally, with his
mind made up, he approached the replicator. He sighed and
made his order. He pressed a few buttons and...
Rakuru: Hot Cocoa.
As the hot, steaming drink formed he carefully picked it up and sat
in a corner. 'Hm... this is pretty good. Not bad.' he
thought, and then moved his mind fully to thinking about the drills
and training while unconsciously taking sips of his hot
chocolate. 'Ah, the holodeck should be good.' he thought, 'I just
hope those privates know how to handle a rifle.' He took
another sip and had a deep breath.
Rakuru: Computer.
Computer: Standing by.
Rakuru: What is the status of the holodecks?
Computer: Holodeck status: Offline.
Rakuru: What?!
Computer: Holodecks are offline. Power grid is not functioning.
Rakuru looked down at the table. Already problems.
Rakuru: =/\= Sigwin to Engineering. There's uh... something wrong
with the... holodeck power grids I believe. Do you know
what the problem is? I thought everything was functioning by now. =/
\=
Rakuru sat quietly, awaiting the response. What a day, what a day.
And there voyage had not even yet begun.
---
Off: Well, I suppose I'll stop there for now. :D
Also, Captain, I noticed you put "TG 1 Dark Knights TF 86" at the
end of some of your ending information? What is that for,
if I may ask?

is the link... http://www.tf86.org/template.php?pageref=tg&tgid=2 we are the third ship down... you
can go to our website by clicking the link! TF86 is Task Fleet 86... www.tf86.org im not going to
take the time to figure out exactly how many but in this period of bravo fleet time there are about
10 task fleets and then there are other periods of time... like the dominion war.. TOS, Mirror
Universe... there are quite a few....
I hope that explains it...

<Before my first post>
Jake was just about ready to ask engineering if they were ready to go when he saw his chief
marine officer walk out of the turbolift *standing up*
Roper: What's the news Lt?
Rakuru: 1st Lt. Rakuru Sigwin, Marine Commanding Officer, reporting
sir. The weapons and other equipment are up to my standards, my men
stand by to defend this ship and her fine crew with our lives, if
need be.
Roper: Good job Lt, I can only hope that you won't have to..
Roper: Understood, get to it. *salutes lt. sigwin*
Rakuru saluted Captain Roper and headed for the turbolift. As the
doors slid shut, he admired the bridge of the Rainmaker
Roper: *sitting back down*
Roper: =/\= Roper to Engineering how are we doing? are we ready to exit spacedock =/\=
Scott: =/\= We seem to have a little problem down here. One of the conduites for the warp
engines has overloaded. We only have impulse right now. I can have warp drive operational in
about 5 hours.
Roper: =/\= Alright, get on it =/\=
Roper: =/\= Roper to Drakos, you want to help scott with the warp drive? =/\=
<Tag Drakos>
Anderson(npc for the moment): Sir if you don't mind im going to go check on the phaser and
torpedo systems
Roper: Not at all
Jake sat down in his chair and sighed..
Roper: *turning to his xo* I'l be in my ready room if you need me

Markos starts walking down the hallway towards a turbolift to get to
engineering. This morning was already not going so well. The sonic
shower took a little meddling to get working and this set him back a
few minutes. As he walks down the hall a power relay blows, short
circuiting the area.
Markos: =^= Drakos to engineering. Come in engineering... =^= Looks
like the comm is down. They must have been affected by the discharge.
Oh what a nice way to start out our maiden voyage.
Markos kneels down and removes a panel. Smoke comes from the
circuitry. Markos recognizes the circuitry to be part of the energy
distribution matrix of the holodeck. He removes it and heads back to
engineering, making a mental note to replace it as soon as possible.
He heads back to the turbolift.
Markos: Main engineering.
The turbolift proceeds down to engineering and opens. Markos goes in
and finds Yucha.
Markos: Ensign Yucha the power relay blew out on deck 2. I believe
this was for the holodeck. Could you see to it to get fixed? Thanks.
(fast forward)
The impulse engines engage and the ship moves out of space dock.
Markos checks the impulse engines output monitor. Minor fluctuations
again, but this time they are pretty insignificant. Still, we don't
want the same thing that happened the other day to occur again.
Markos: =^= Lt. Drakos to the bridge. We are reading minor
fluctuations in the impulse drive. I am monitoring it but we have had
similar some problems the other day. I am working on it but I'll keep
you posted. Drakos out. =^= =^= Drakos to Ensign Yucha I'm gonna
need you back down here in engineering. We need to find where the
hell these fluctuations are coming from. =^=
<tag bridge, Scott>
(Moments later in engineering)
Markos: Ensign Yucha, I want to do a simulation. I'll recalibrate the
impulse fusion reactor's rate of absorption of the deuterium, I need
you to adjust for the variances and keep an eye on those darn
fluctuations. Any fluctuations over .03% is unacceptable. If you have
any ideas please throw them in cause I'm running out.

Yucha, I need you to start working on the warp engine take 3 crewmen

Crewman: Sir, primary containment fields offline, secondary fields
holding. What on earth could be hitting our containment fields like
that?
Markos just shakes his head.
Markos: Ok here's what we'll do, you 2 go and bring the primary
containment fields online. You are with me, we need to rerout all nonessential
system's power to the containment fields. We must not allow
a breach!

Andersen: Shields are at 50%
Markos: =/\= Drakos to bridge, We have lost primary containment

Scott: Markos, it seems this problem is bigger then we thought. Two
of the accelorator coils are useless, and the deuterium fusion
reactor is fried.
Markos: Ok rebout the reactor sequence. Go and manually configure the
accelorator coils and...
4 serpant like creatures appear on the side of engineering that
Markos was on.
Markos: We're being boarded! To arms!
Markos reaches for a weapon but was thrown away by one of the
invaders, hitting into one of the consols. Strange, they moved very
feline like. The alien charges and Markos dives out of the way. He
knew that there was no way that he could take the creature on 1-on-1.
He reaches to one of the panels, presses a combination of controls
and it opens giving him access to the phasers. The alien crabs him
from behind and tries to hold him back from getting access to the
weapons
Scott sees Markos in the struggle. And runs over to assist him.
Scott: MARKOS!!
Scott runs behind the strange creature and grabbs him from behind and
snapps his neck.

dead. Markos and Scott distribute the weapons to the rest of

Off: Since I haven't posted for a while, this kind of ties
everything together.
On:
Rakuru: =/\= Lt. Sigwin to Engineering. It appears that the
holodecks are offline. I thought everything was supposed to be
ready by now. =/\=
Scott: =/\=Rakuru=/\= I am currently working on the Holodecks. Seems
something caused the wires to short out. Weird...
Rakuru: =/\= Well I'd like it online soon if that isn't asking too
much. =/\=
Rakuru sighed and walked to the turbolift.
Rakuru: Bridge.
In a moment, he arrived at the bridge. The doors slid open, and he
walked in. He walked over to Brandon Noga, noticing the
captain was not around.
Rakuru: If it's alright, sir, I'd like to stand aside and watch the
Rainmaker undock.
Noga (Kind of an NPC for now.): Sure.
Rakuru stood, with his arms behind his back, waiting.
<The Captin Walks in>
Jake walked out onto the bridge next to his XO, Already on the
bridge were, Lt jg Johnathen Phoenix, Lt jg Malcom Andersen(Until he
joins the mailing list consider him an NPC) and, Ensign Christina
Hultz (NPC Chief Conn Officer)
Jake sat down in the captains chair....
Roper: =/\= Roper to Engineering how are we doing? are we ready to
exit spacedock =/\=
Roper: =/\= Excellent =/\=
Roper: Lt Phoenix would you like to take us out?
Jonathen: I Sir
*Jonathen figers tap the conteol panel and the ship start to move
out of space dock*
*All round the Space Dock and claps and shouts of good luck and God
speed.*
Jonathen: we have cleard space dock.
Jonathen: where to Sir
While the space dock, as well as the ship and bridge are in cheer
about the clearing, Rakuru quietly slips off the bridge.
Tired, having not had some rest for a while, he wished to get some
rest in his quarters.
He steps into the turbolift and waits as the doors close, rolling
the events from a moment ago silently in his mind.
Rakuru: Senior Officer Quarters
The turbolift silently rolls down the complex system and to deck
two. The doors quietly slip open, and Rakuru walks to his
room. The door to his room glides open and he goes straight over to
hs bed and lies down.
Rakuru: (Quietly) What a day.
<A tiny bit later.>
By now, Rakuru had dozed off to sleep quickly and easily.
Suddenly,
The ship shakes and drop's out of warp.
It doesn't shake too much, but Rakuru was half-awake. He never even
opened his eyes.
He slips back into sleep, but only for a moment.
Suddenly, three torpedos hit the ship. Rakuru went flying out of
bed. He was awake now.
He gets up and reachs for his commbadge to find out what this is all
about, but to no use. In a moment, 2 more torpedoes hit
the ship, knocking him back to the floor.
He gets up, the ship now at full red alert. For a moment he was
totally stunned. Then the captain came over the intercom.
Roper: *intercom* This is the captain speaking all hands TO ARMS!
*intercom*
He quickly jumped out of the door and began heading toward the
turbolift. He ran in.
Rakuru: Armory.
The turbolift darted to the Armory. For a moment he was afraid
another torpedo would hit, causing the turbolift to short
out.
Thank god, it didn't happen that way. The doors slid open, quickly
followed by Rakuru briskly walking to the Armory. So far
so good.
Rakuru walked to the Armory door and opened it. Maverick quicky
twisted toward him, aiming his rifle at him.
Maverick: Oh my! Lt. Sigwin! I'm so sorry, sir... I thought... you
were one of them.
Rakuru looked at him oddly.
Rakuru: Them?
Maverick hesistated, then looked down and pointed his rifle down.
Rakuru looked down as well. There lie a creature,
apparently dead. It's body was steaming, and a few holes had been
burned into it, apparently from the rifle.
Rakuru walked over and prodded it with his foot. He raised his
eyebrow.
Rakuru: Interesting.
Maverick was lost.
Maverick: Excuse me sir?
Rakuru looked up and shook his head.
Rakuru: Nothing. I've just never seen anything like it.
Maverick understand a bit better now, yet is still shook by this
whole thing.
Maverick: Aye sir.
Rakuru looked around. Everything else appears to be in order. Once
again, he turned to Maverick.
Rakuru: What is this all about?
Maverick: I don't know sir.
Rakuru shakes his head once again.
Rakuru: This is just too strange.
Maverick nods in agreement.
Rakuru: =/\= Lt. Sigwin to Bridge. What the heck is going up there?
=/\=
Rakuru waits a bit.
A bit more.
Now he's getting annoyed.
Maverick just shrugs.
Rakuru: =/\= Lt. Sigwin to Bridge! What's going on?! =/\=
He waits again.
Still no answer.
Rakuru: Comm must be out.
Maverick nods.
Rakuru: Well there may be more. Better arm myself.
Rakuru ran over to the rifles and pulled down one. Just as he had
done so, the Armory doors slid open.
Both Rakuru and Maverick twisted to the door, this time their guns
slightly lowered, remembering last time.
Instead, it was three marines, one of them Benson. They ran over to
equip themself.
Rakuru ran over to Benson.
Rakuru: Status?
Benson turned toward Rakuru and answered quickly.
Benson: They're beaming in all over the ship, sir. SOme of the
marines are tied up with only phasers.
Suddenly the dead alien caught his eye. He paused.
Benson: They have training though. They'll make it, sir.
Rakuru noted the worry in the private's voice.
Rakuru: Aye. Arm yourself, I have a feeling we'll be needed soon.
Benson ran over and grabbed a rifle.
Sigwin could feel the tension in the air. It made him uneasy.
All the marines were equiped and ready.
Rakuru was deep in thought, when suddenly...
Roper: =/\= Roper to Sigwin, Lt Send some marines to seal off
engineering =/\=
'It appears that the commbadges are working now.', Rakuru thought.
Rakuru: =/\= Aye sir. We're all ready. I'm on it. How are you faring
up there? =/\=
He waited for a response.
None.
'What could have happened to them.' he thought.
Still no response.
(Off: If you remember, during this time the following was happening
aboard the bridge:
Rakuru: =/\= Aye sir. We're all ready. I'm on it. How are you faring
up there? =/\=
Suddenly two more appeared behind jake
Andersen: CAPTAIN!
jake dives out of the way and Andersen shoots 1 of them, and then
gets shot himself.
Roper: *Fires at the alien* =/\= Roper to sickbay send a medical
team up here immeadiatly =/\= *checks andersen's pulse*
=/\= Roper to sickbay, belay that order... he's dead =/\=
Also, I am now current with the timeline.
)
Rakuru: We better get moving now. Benson and Smith (Another marine
NPC), come with me. Jorhey (yet another marine NPC), stay
here in case more marines come down here. Send a few more down to
engineering, I might need a bit more.
Rakuru paused.
And try not to let -them- ruin my armory.
Rakuru winked at Private Jorhey.
Benson picked up his rifle and ran next to Rakuru.
Benson: Yes sir.
Smith followed suit.
Smith: Right with you, sir.
Jorhey smiled.
Jorhey: They won't be hurting this Armory, I give you my word.
Rakuru smiled slightly.
Rakuru: Aye.
Rakuru looked over at Maverick.
Rakuru: Feeling ok, Ensign?
Maverick jerked out of his deep thought.
Maverick: Aye sir.
Maverick attempted a smile.
Rakuru turned to Smith and Benson.
Rakuru: Ready?
They both stood up straight.
Smith: Ready.
Benson: Ready.
Rakuru: Good, we better get moving then.
Smith: Aye.
Rakuru walked over to the door.
Rakuru: Keep your guard up, they could be anywhere.
The privates nodded.
Rakuru opened the door, and slipped through, checking in all
directions.
He walked over to the turbolift. So far everything seemed normal. No
aliens. No malfunctions. No danger. No problem.
For now.
He walked in, the privates following.
Rakuru looked around nervously. He almost -knew- that he would not
be so lucky elsewhere on the ship.
Rakuru: Main Engineering.
The turbolift, smooth as ever, slipped down to deck 11.
Too easy so far. He hoped the privates were keeping up their alert.
Even before the doors opened, he heard it. The sound of weapons
firing rapidly. Of combat. Of death.
He opened the doors, and noticed two aliens fighting, no, attacking
three marines (all NPCs), who were pinned down, and without much
hope.
Quickly, Rakuru and the privates jumped out of the turbolift and
started firing at the aliens.
One alien fell.
The other did too, but not before ripping a hole in one of the
pinned down marines, who instantly screamed in pain.
Benson, enraged, shot down the other alien in all haste.
Rakuru rushed to the side of the fallen marine. He checked for a
pulse.
Rakuru: He's still alive, but unless he gets help, not for long.
The marine opened his eyes, and looked at Rakuru.
Private Turon (The wounded marine.): Cheif.
Rakuru was surprised by his weak response.
Rakuru: It's alright, Private. Help is on the way. Just stay still.
The private nodded very weakly, almost so it could not be seen, then
closed his eyes.
Rakuru: =/\= Lt. Sigwin to Sickbay. We have a wounded marine down
near Main Engineering. He needs help now. Send down a medical team
in all haste please. =/\=
Ensign Murion (Sickbay NPC [Female]): =/\= This is Sickbay. A
medical team is on your way. =/\=
Rakuru (Quietly): Thank god.
Rakuru: Alright... Smith, would you mind staying here until help
arrives?
Smith: Of course not sir. I'll make sure nothing touchs him.
Rakuru: Good. We better be on our way then.
Everyone nodded.
Rakuru: Everyone but Smith and Turon, you're with me.
Everyone held their rifles high.
Rakuru: Ok. Everyone else ok?
Everyone was.
Rakuru: Good. Let's go! Follow me!
Rakuru and his band of marines went down the hallway. No resistense
yet. He hoped the medical team would get to Turon in time.
They continued running down the hall until they got to main
engineering.
While the privates covered him, he overrided the door, and locked it.
Secure.
Suddenly...
Private Jorhey: =/\= Private Jorhey to Lt. Sigwin. We've had some
marines make it to the Armory. No deaths yet that have been
reported. =/\=
Rakuru was relieved. Private Jorhey continued.
Private Jorgey: =/\= They've armed, and I've sent them down to
Engineering, I believe I've sent enough to cover the area.
Rakuru: =/\= This is Lt. Sigwin. Good job, Private. =/\=
Private Jorgey: =/\= Thank you, sir. We're doing all right up here.
=/\=
Rakuru: =/\= Good. Keep in touch. Sigwin out. =/\=
Rakuru paused. The Privates around him heard it all, and although
they were not jumping around cheering, Rakuru could certainly see
much of their tension was released. Replaced with hope.
Rakuru: Good. Looks like we have this covered.
Rakuru paused.
Rakuru: I better see what our orders are now.
The Privates nodded.
Rakuru: =/\= Lt. Sigwin to Bridge. How are you doing up there? =/\=
<Tag Bridge Crew>
Rakuru: =/\= We've secured Main Engineering, and teams are being
sent down. Further Orders?

Markos notices something unusual on the impulse engine monitor.
Scott: Markos we may be able to change the polarity of the Structural
Integrity field, the enemy ship's tractor may loose control of the
ship, and since we do have warp 5.3 we can use that to get away
Markos: Inform the captain. I think I may have just found our
gremlin. I'll be in the jeffery's tube section K4-L12. Crewman you're

Markos grabs a diagnostics kit and a phaser. He tells the creman to
get the toolkit and a phaser too. They head to the jefferey's tube
and begins climbing upwards.
(some flights of ladders later)
Markos: It's here somewhere. Begin opening those panels and run a
level 3 diagnostic on them. Tell me if you find anything unusual, I
mean ANYTHING!
Crewman: Aye sir.
Markos turns around and begins to work on the panels on that side.
The crewman opens the panel on his side.
Crewman: uhhhh.... sir? Would this classify as "unusual"
Markos turns around. The circuitry has been altered. Melted almost.
Markos takes out his tricorder.
Markos:There is some kind of subspace wave focused on this area. The
pattern suggests it's not a natural phenomenon. We need to erect a
sub-space dampening field. Let's move out of this corridor.
They move out of the area and close it off.

emissions. Also I've solved our "fluctuations" problem. It seems that they have been trying to
sabotage us from the beginning by using a subspace wave to fry our circuitry. I've initiated a
subspace dampening field in that area, it shouldn't interfere with our warp field. =/\=

The fragments and force of the explosions may be enough to make them

chance. It would be like being in the outer corona of the sun

Captains log stardate 57348.8 : The USS Rainmaker on her maiden voyage has dropped out of
warp, it appears that an unknown race had been sabotoging her systems. This Race apparently
can fire while cloaked which was apparent when they attacked our ship. They took out our
weopons, shields and sensor systems, then began boarding our ship. Our Chief Engineer Markos
Drakos with the help of our Assistant Chief Engineer Scott Yucha were able to give us a chance
by allowing us to make a jump to warp and fixing the impulse system. This took our unknown
enemy by suprise and we were able to fight off their boarding parties, for now......... But they are
gaining on us, they will be upon us in minuetes. We do however have a plan. We have detected
an astoroid field, covered with helium gas, we will drop out of warp, manuver into the field and
when they follow us, we will reroute all remaining power to the weopons and shields systems.
Using the Metaphasic Shielding tested and approved by the USS Enterprise-D we will send a
torpedo hurling into the gas Causing a explosion that at the least, will slow them down severely.
There are a great many things that could go wrong, so it is imperative that the crew act as a
whole. God grant us the best of luck, that is all.
Jake looked over to the turbolift to see Ensign Pendragon emerge
from it

*the alien ship transports their boarders back onto their ship and run*
Hawk: Sir should we pursue them?
Michaels: No, let them go we need to escort the Rainmaker back to the starbase
Hawk: Yes sir.
<tag excelsior crew>
Off: Now for the 3rd part!
Lt Cmdr Chris Hawk
Executive Officer
USS Excelsior
On:
<USS Rainmaker>
<Main Bridge>
Captains log stardate 57358.4: With the help of the USS Excelsior we have manadged to fight
these beings off. But we can only speculate on why they attacked us, who they were and where
they came from. I am very proud of my crew and how they acted in the most dificult of situations, I
will have some awards to present them. The Rainmaker on the other hand is in very bad shape, it
will take much of the same determination that I saw in this crew to fight these species to repair the
ship. I cannot imagine what would have happened had the excelsior not shown up right at that
time. I do believe that there is some force in this universe..... We have lost a great number of
people in this battle, people who gave their lives for protecting their crew. I have a service planned
at 0800 hours tommorow morning Until then.
<fast forward>
*13 shots are fired into the air*
Roper: .......................... And Lt Cmdr Brandon Noga (he finishes reading off a list of the dead)
Roper: Now let us have a minuete of silence please....
Roper: Lt Jg Markos Drakos, stand up and be recognized, for your actions and ideas during the
fight you are officially awarded the rank of lt and if you want to executive officer.
<tag drakos>
Roper: 1st lt Rakuru Sigwin, stand up and be recognized, for your actions in battle you are
officially awarded the rank of marine captain. *salutes him*
<tag sigwin>
Roper: Ensign Scott Yucha, stand up and be recognized, for your actions in battle you are officialy

drakos choose to accept the position of xo.

Roper: =/\= Roper to Engineering reroute power to the aft shields =/\=
Markos:=/\= Aye sir, I'm redistributing shields focusing on the aft=/\=
*eventually the Rainmaker loses her weopons systems again, while taking out the enemy's
shields, the aliens begin to board the Rainmaker and many people are lost as the fighting
continues, Main engineering is being boarded by 10 aliens*
Markos: Everyone to arms!
Fighting continues as some fight hand to hand while others grab phasers and start firing. The
aliens try to gain accest to the warp core.
Markos: Defend the core at all costs! we must maintain main power!!!
Markos runs to a terminal. He inputs a code and locks it.
Markos locks the controls in main engineering, with the inputted code only him, the executive
officer and the captain can access it now. Markos turns to get back to fighting when one alien
jumps him. It grabs him by the throat and starts squeezing the life out of Markos. Markos
manages to get out of its grip and tries to push it of him but to no avail. A single phaser shot is all
it takes and the alien falls to the ground.
Markos: Thanks, Santos.
Markos notices on the monitor that the USS Excelsior has arrived. The Excelsior fires on the
alien ship and the boarding team in engineering start to beam back to their own ship. Everyone
looks around, a little disoriented.
Markos: Relax guys, the cavalry has arrived.
Chief engineers log stardate 57358.4: The Rainmaker has sustained considerable damage and
I was getting the evil eye from the engineers that built the ship. I guess they thought that it was my
responsibility as chief engineer to take care of their baby. Even with all the problems and the alien
ship atacking us; a ship which we could not fight off. Not even a helium gas explosion with the
strength of the outer corona of a star was enough to get them. But we did severely damage them.
I forsee a lot of fixing in the near future.
The captain has a service planned at 0800 hours tommorow morning. The Rainmaker
sustained heavy casualties, many died, most of whom I didn't know but mourn for, because being
on that ship, serving together, made us all family, even if it was for a day. This may have been a
victory in the eyes of the Federation, but I don't think that it is of much condolence to those who
lost their loved ones. Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters. Every single one of
them meant something to someone. When will races and empires understand that? When will
they see how precious everyone is in this existence we call reality? I cannot answer that question.
I can only recognize their sacrifices and for that I salute them. Rest assured that their deaths will
not be in vain. They died for the greater good of us all. Therefore each and every one of them
deserves a place in my memory...... forever!
