Strange Valentine
•NO word minumum
•Due Feb 25, 2011 - Midnight GMT
•And most importantly have fun!
In honour of the Hallmark holiday, and because it has to be fun, the idea is a Valentine-esque event...
Be it A klingon version (presumably involving recently slain meat), a blossoming at a debutante ball.. whatever the the theme is
romance comedic/ tragic/ fluffy or just plain silly...
As ever I like to see outings from established characters.. (maybe highlight a game you run/ would like to see more folks join),
but it isn't a rule.. and likewise this might be fun to see a jp written for any pair that dare...
good luck

The tall figure dressed all in a dark grey, designed to blend into the night, paused in his ascent up the building and looked over
the sleeping city, the night birds were calling softly to each other in the trees far below him and the slight breeze rustled the
leaves bringing the scent of flowers and warm sand up to him. Far below he could see couples walking through the open pack
filled with a wide variety of the flora this planet had to offer. A slight smile curved the edges of his full lips giving a hint of straight
white teeth.
Inhaling deeply he shifted his pack slightly and continued on his way. Sure there were easier ways to do this but none of them
were nearly so much fun for the adrenaline junkie as climbing twenty stories to the penthouse suite without the aid of any ropes
or anti-grav boots.
It wasn’t as if this was the first time he had been called upon to do something like this, and he knew it wouldn’t be the last either.
Starfleet Intelligence had trained him well and before them Special Forces. Of course if he were caught breaking in this time
there would be no back up, no one to pull his arse out of the fire, no one to save him from the hiding he would surely take.
Of course failure never once entered his head, that wasn’t in his nature.
Reaching his target window without even breathing hard he settled himself into a secure footing and set about bypassing the
high-tech security system that would foil most would-be intruders. Of course it helped that he had been in the suite the day
before and had had the time to study the various security systems within.
With the trembler systems bypassed along with those that detected life signs and knowing that those monitoring the security
systems would no longer be able to detect the window being opened never mind his entry he silently opened the window and
climbed in.
Crouching down on the soft carpet he paused to let his eyes adjust to the darkness inside the large suite. His naturally
suspicious mind and well-honed instincts made him wait and listen. Just because he knew the suite was supposed to be empty
didn’t mean that some plan hadn’t changed causing the suite’s occupant to be home.
His target was a little off to his right. Padding silently across the luxurious carpet his every sense was attuned to the scents and
sounds of the room. Reaching the bed he slipped off his pack and pulled out the items he was going to need.
First was a box of the finest, hand-made, dark chocolates filled with a variety of nuts, caramels and truffles, which he gently
placed on top of the pillow on the left hand side of the bed that he knew she always slept on. Next was a black rose native to her
homeland that he placed in a small crystal vase on the nightstand. Beside the vase he placed an invitation to dinner with him at

one of the top, but very select, restaurants this world offered.
Smiling at his work he shouldered the pack and crept back towards the open window and escape.

Tugging open the collar of her dress uniform the annoyed, harassed and well and truly peeved Marine flag officer stepped into
the quarters the Governors of this world had assigned her thinking once again that it was far too fancy for her taste and wishing
for something more subtle. It took her a few moments to realise that one of the large windows in the place must have been open.
Above the scent of the night flowers from outside her sensitive nose detected the scent of a flower she hadn’t smelt in years.
Wrinkling her already ridged nose the Bajoran woman was sure she hadn’t done something to irritate the one whose calling card
was the black rose and had been single-handedly responsible for the death of over a hundred Cardassians back during the
Occupation.
She couldn’t think of who else knew that she loved the dark flower that only bloomed in the darkest of nights.
She crouched slightly as her eyes adjusted to the dark and her hand strayed to where her Ares Deatheye was normally
holstered. Silently she thrice-cursed the Ambassadors and their orders for her to attend that evening’s dinner unarmed she
looked around for another weapon.
Hearing the slightest hint of movement in her bedroom she crept through to where she could see through the open door.
Catching sight of a dark figure trying to climb back out of the open window she acted. She wasn’t about to let whoever broke into
her rooms escape in one piece.
As quick as a flash she was across the room and grappling the intruder. Throwing him to the floor in a classic move she followed
up by applying her trademark black marine boot to his stomach and then kicking his ribs.
She followed that move by dropping with all her weight onto his back and bringing her right forearm around his throat as her
other hand grabbed for her right hand and she started applying pressure.
Of course it was very off putting with her opponent tapped out in the normal manner of a sparring partner. Warily she called out
“computer lights” and as the computer complied and filled the room with a soft light she stared in amazement at who she had
caught. “What in all the Hells are you doing Adonis?” she asked using the man’s callsign.
“Happy Valentine’s Day Anara” he choked out grinning at the look on her face and hoping that she wasn't going to kill him for this
one.
