Pheonix sat in his chiar in the captains offices going over his mission and making shore he is
reading to rigth he rub his eyes and looked at the pad.
Pheonix: how on earth am i going to do this.
He sat there for abit racking his brain and think. The he rembered that his old capatin Jake Roper
who was Retired may have a bit more info one these life forms from when he was in command.
Pheonix: Computer open a sub-space channel to Jake Roper Retired star fleet officer.
he looked at the blank screen hoping that he would be in.
Jake looked up suprised to see that his comm link was blinking, sitting up his commodore pip
gleamed next to the computer, he sat up and tapped the comm activator.
Pheonix: its good to see you again how is Retiremet going.
Roper: Boring, but it's nice, I see you're fitting into the new post nicely.
Pheonix: Thats good. But i am sorry to say this not a persnaly call but one of bussiness.
Roper: Alright, Well, what do you want to know
Pheonix gave Roper the out line of the mission then looked up from the pad.
Pheonix: Do you have any more info that may help on the mission i am hopping to get the ship
back.
Roper: They're weakness is that they are organic in nature, use the holodeck to come up with a
halogen, it will be in it's records, Good luck Phoenix
Pheonix: well thank you for you help Jake i will let you know how the mission goes.
Pheonix gave a warm smile and closed the channel. He got to his feet and taped his comm bage.

I was just about to drink a glass of nice cool replicated beer,
when I heard the captain´s voice.
Well, so the captain wants us in the briefing room?
Ok, then...
I walked from the door of my quarters and took the shortest way
to the nearest turbolift. The door of the briefing room opened, I
walked in and said:
"Reporting as ordered, captain"

organize them at several key points on the Rainmkaer including the

Debora looked at her screen. Right, like those 2.5 seconds of
scanning would reveil ANY detail that was to be preserved for
Starfleet records. She sighed and tapped a few Commands.
"Well, sir," she opened. "This would be a classic example of a
MINE," she continued, slightly sarcastic. "I think that most likely
IF there was any being inside it it would have been fried by the
spacial radiation that is in this area."
"What would this imply, Commander?" the CO promptly asked.
"This would imply that this is a trap, yet my scanners don't show
anything that may be ship-like. Unless they have hidden a group of
fighters here somewhere."
"Proceed," the CO asked again.
Debora had to calm herself down somewhat, since she hated continuing
explanations. "This means that there may be a different way in which
they try to catch us. You are correct that the debris, the little
that there is, would provide a clue. I will commence transportation
of the pieces to sickbay by containment," she finished.
As the CO warned the CMO of the arrival of the pieces, she
transported them safely to the CMO. She had only found minute
tracers of biochemical stuff, so there would only be a hair or scale
lost in the making of the thing.
"Sir," she continued, trying to keep her voice at level, "would you
like me to run a level 3 scan on the area with a tachion focus for
any cloaked ships?"

Phoenix: =/\= Martin you may be having some alien pices in sick bayvery soon so be readly =/\=
Martin raised an eyebrow.
"How very kind of you phoenix.", replied Martin with a sense of sarcasm in his voice. The 42 year
old doctor, with fading black hair, a slightly tanned face, and brown eyes, stood up, and walked
out into sickbay.
"Nurse Peters, I wish you to prepare me sufficient tools, I believe we are tasked with analysing
some alien, *Slowing the speed of his voice* debris.
The Nurse nodded, as she walked off, upon Martin's orders. He strode over to a workbench, from
which he awaited the arrival of the debris. Hearing the recognisable whirling, and glancing the
metallic and blue swirling particles, he turned 180 Degrees. "Ensign", said Martin rather Icily, as
he gained her attention. "I will require your assistance over to the tuther workbench". The Ensign
nodded, as she gathered the necessary materials for the task at hand.
Martin picked the Trciorder handed to him from the Ensign, who was now walking beside him, as
they walked over to the bench. "Right", said Martin calmly. "What have we here". He began
scanning the debris. Raising an eyebrow, he once again turned to the Ensign behind him. "I will
re-", Martin was cut off mid sentence, yet he talked over a voice entering sickbay. "quire some
Dazan, to sterilise this equipment, and then we will need to ascertain which of this debris is metal,
and which is tissue".
Yet again, another voice was calling him over. "Doctor Martin", was shouted again.
"Yes", Martin responded, without even looking up, but down at the task he was performing.
"I require medical assistance", he said clinching his arm.
"Then see Nurse peters, I am otherwise engaged", Martin said coldly.
"But, doc!", the young Lieutenant again responded.
"I am neither free, and neither a "Doc. I am a practitioner of Medicine", Martin Interjected. "Are you
missing a limb?".
"No bu-".
"Are you bleeding internally".
"No bu-".
"Then until you are allow me to continue with my job. I am not a nurse. I am a Doctor, I do not
wish to heal this crew's, aches and pains, unless they are in the need of immediate surgery, which
you clearly do not. You will see Nurse Peters. Do I make myself clear", said Martin, calmly, yet not
looking up at the Lieutenant, to which he got no reply.
For roughly 25 Minutes Martin continued to pull apart the debris, analysing any tissue he found.
After analysing the last piece of debris, he walked over to his office, where he contacted
Commander Phoenix.
=/\= Lieutenant Commander Phoenix, I have come to a conclusion about the debris you so kindly
beamed to my sick bay. I will require to see you at my earliest convenience, which shall be in one
hour. Martin out =/\=.
Martin clearly wasn't amused he had to analyse debris, yet he had done it at the commanders
request. He walked over to the Ensign at the work bench. "Ensign, kindly remove this filth from my
sickbay", he then turned to set eyes upon the "Persistent Lieutenant" that was now leaving
sickbay.
"Now Lieutenant, it wasn't that bad was it", Martin said sarcastically.

It was there, waiting, examinating, adjusting, hiding
and hoping. They were strong, they were confident and
they were many. The bridge only reveiled the darkness
that the creatures used. Light was not needed, they
saw in the dark and what they didn't see, they
smelled.
To the average human noise, it would smell like a
un-cleaned terrarium, but to them, it was a message.
"What'sss it doing?"
"It'sss preparing for combat"
"Battlessstationsss, thisss isss the perfect
opportunity for life target practiccce."
"Sssir"
The stench on the bridge, had there been a human
present, what overwhelming. There was no light, there
was no sound. There was alert. From dark alcoves,
unclear for the human eye, many appeared, armed, ready
and able. They took positions in what seemed
motionless space.
Then light was present. Head-up displays became clear
all over the bridge. Silently they started tapping the
air.
"All battlessstationsss report ready sssir."
"Ssset a courssse. We will dissspatccch them. Glory to
the emperor."
From the darkness, from above, from the sides, from
the floor came the answer. "For _hisss_ honour isss
_our_ honour..."
"Sssilenccce... we will wait. The hunt isss on... Be
patient, do not underessstimate your opponent... Black
mode... sssilent mode..."
The ship, if anyone had known it were there, would
have been lost by even the keenest Starfleet observer
with the most advanced technology at his disposal. It
was not to be detected, unless you could smell in
space. The hunt, as favored, would be played out. The
strongest would win... but who would be the strongest?

Reeves: Alright, *he looked at the marines* suit up grap phasers and
rifles. Be prepared we have faught them before and one this time will
be no different *he hoped he was right* now, lets roll.
Reeves strolled up to the rack and started tossing compression rifles
to his men, when all but one were gona he grabbed it locked in a
special setting for the sight and headed for the bridge. Whatever the
aliens had in mind they wouldn't get the bridge he personally would
make sure of that...

"Sir," she continued, trying to keep her voice at level, "would you
like me to run a level 3 scan on the area with a tachion focus for
any cloaked ships?"
Pheonix: that maybe a good idea but i am not shore if will find any
thing out there with our scan they can't be pick up on.
The Ox started to give out some orders.
Pheonix: good call. Wonning as your scaning may as well get what we

Debora looked at her console. Okey, level 3
diagnostic. She had asked for the shitty job herself,
so she was to do it. Damn danger. Of course, what else
could she do? She could hardly let this bunch of
amateurs die. That would plague her all her life.
She initiated the mid-level procedure, focussing the
scanners on picing up tachion radiation. A thing that
usually was able to find and rather precisey locate a
vessel that was cloaked.
As the scan continued she found a few pieces of
debris, which she send to Lieutenant Commander Martin.
Not her job to find out what they meant... Actually
not his too, but as far as she knew this ship didn't
have any scientists. Strange, since Scientists had
even been present on Defiant-class vessels during the
heat of the Dominion War.
Then something caught her eye. It was dismissed by the
computer as back-ground radiation, but something of
the shape of this 'background radiation' was bothering
her.
It was about half a mile in length, cilindrical and
pointed to the front. From the back (seen from her
position) where 7 limbs, as it seemed, which then made
a 90 degrees turn to quite readily look like
warpnascelles. Over the whole back and sides, at 50
degrees from the top, where some kind of spikes. As
she continued to look at it, she noticed she herself
was speaking more and more about a ship than
background radiation.
She stopped the scan. Something was bothering her
about it. As she looked on, she noticed that the ship,
as she herself would not believe anything else
anymore, was moving on an intercept course with the
Rainmaker.
"CONN, could you take us off our current course by
3%?" she asked, while noting to her CO with her eyes
she was not to be interrupted. All the time that would
be lost be him going over the decision would work
against them.
The Rainmaker made a slight turn and moved in a new
angle, about 3% of their last course. The ship made a
similar adjustment, but to 2%, making the ETA to the
same point about 50 minutes later.
Debora quickly put together the flight data of the
spacial radiation and put it upon the main viewer.
"Excuse me for this, sir. But this is what I've been
tracking just yet. It seems like a vessel to me."
The CO looked at the screen, while holding his hand to
his chin. He was thinking. Then he turned around. "I
would like you to make a visual interpretation of this
vessel, please."
Debora nodded and quickly composed what she thought
the ship would be. On the viewscreen, an odd, brown
ship appeared. To Debora it's colors and warpnascelle
output were very similar to that of a Species 8472
Bioship, yet the shape of the ship was rather
different. To her it looked a lot like a Stegosaur
with very pointed backplates.
Then her readings of the ship disappeared again, like
some higher form of cloak had been initiated. "Sir,
it's gone again," she informed her CO. "What is your
advise on the action to take?"

<SICKBAY>
The unmistakable whirling, filled the Sickbay of the USS
Rainmaker. Doctor Martin, sitting in his partitioned office
raised his right eyebrow, yet never flinched from reading
the PaDD he held in his right hand.
"Nurse Peters. If you would be so kind", Martin said, still
not flinching.
"Sir", the chestnut haired nurse spoke, peering into his
office.
"Yes. If you would be so kind as to remove the debris from
my sickbay, and analyse it in a science lab, where it should
be", still not removing his gaze from the PaDD in his hand.
"I will indeed have words with Commander Phoenix, and
Commander Wonning, I am not a scrap heap Manager".
Another whirling filled sickbay again. This time, Martin
lowered the PaDD, and looked straight ahead, at the wall.
=/\= Martin to Operations. Please kindly cease rendering
my sickbay with such alien rubbish. It shall now go straight
to science Lab one. This is a sickbay. Not a scrap heap. I
am a physician, NOT, a scrap heap manager. Martin
out =/\=.
Martin then resumed his reading. "Hmmm", he mumbled,
obviously reading something intriguing. "Nurse Peters", he
spoke coldly.
"Yes Doctor", she replied.
"Please deliver the report to my desk before that of Commander
Phoenix, as I will need to review your work", Martin requested,
unflinching.
"Yes sir", she replied, with raised eyebrows.
The doors to sickbay slid open, as man was carried in on a
stretcher, clearly in pain. Martin placed the PaDD on his desk,
and walked over, watching.
The Nurse's and Doctors available placed the patient,
by now determined as an Ensign, on a surgical bio- bed. Martin
overlooked. "What have we hear", he said, peering over. "Hmmm,
excessive blood loss, deep wound, third degree burns to the face.
Another conduit Nurse?", he asked, picking up a Medical
tricorder.
The Nurse nodded, collecting the necessary equipment in
advance. Acknowledging the information gathered from
the tricorder, Martin began his diagnosis. "Exactly as I
presumed. We will need to operate immediately, he is
bleeding internally," Martin said, placing the tricorder
down, and raising the semi circle bio sensor over the
patient. "Upon analysis of this scan, we shall begin surgery",
he said calmly, while administrating a hypospray.

Okey, the Admiral was going to get it. She didn't care
which Admiral, as long as he or she was the -sensoredwho
assigned her to this -sensored- job. She was
barely 2 days aboard the vessel and already her life
was in yeopardy!
"Shield are holding, sir. 50%... Make that 20%" she
said, while the ship rocket. "Add a nice 20 meter
hullbreach on deck 3, aft section."
She hated herself. Why had she been so -sensoredright?
This ship, 503 meters in length, had 1000
lifesigns aboard and was armed to the teeth. As she
calculated, it would be able to make meatloaf out of 3
Sovereigns.
"Return fire! Full spread!" the CO yelled. Debora
nearly giggled at the futility of such a command.
"Aye, aye, sir." Ensign Logan, the Chief of Security
said. "Direct hits on forward section. No damage,
enemy shielding holding at 100%."
"I would advise a withdrawal, sir," Debora said, while
she looked at her CO. "This ship is highly capable of
destroying us and I have little doubt it will."
"Continue firing," she heard the CO answer.
"Brace for impact!" the Chief CONN yelled before
violently being swung from her chair. She smashed with
her head against the CO's chair and Debora could heard
the sick-making noise of a breaking skull.
"=/\= Doctor to the bridge! We have a skullfracture
here! =/\=" someone called for the CMO.
"Hullbreaches on decks 4 and 5! Shields at 10%!"
Debora said, slightly louder than normal, if only to
have herself be heard over the noise that was all
around her.
"Tactical manouvre Omega," the Commander Pheonix
ordered. "Tactical get me a triple-shot on that
vessel. Make a pass with both front and aft torpedo's.
=/\= Enigneering, get me a seal on those hullbreaches!
=/\="
Debora sighed... Battle... she knew more efficient
ways to use her time!

Lieutenant Commander (LCDR).
Chief Medical Officer.
USS Rainmaker.
<SICKBAY>
<ON>
Martin was reviewing a few files in his office, keeping his mind off
the battle, being their no casualties thus far. I suppose that was an
understatement, as the ship buckled, and threw him to the floor.
"=/\= Doctor to the bridge! We have a skullfracture
here! =/\=" someone called for the CMO.
Martin pulled himself up, and pointed to his Nurse, and young Medical
technician, with one finger, and jolted it towards him, signalling that they were to follow him. They
grabbed the necessary equipment, and followed him out.
<Bridge>
Martin walked onto the bridge first, and glanced around the deck,
sniffing the burnt conduits and smoke that filled the air. He soon glanced
down towards the Officer on the floor. He walked down and kneeled.
"Tricorder", he snapped coldly at his Nurse. She handed it to him without
delay. Martin raised an eyebrow. "Well... it appears she has a cracked skull,
bleeding on the brain, and ontop a variety of broken limbs. We will need
to operate", he concluded calmly.
The rest of the bridge looked on in awe shock, as Martin picked up a
medical tool, and began to insert it into the young Officers open skull.
"What.. what are you doing Doctor?", Commander Phoenix asked
rather squeamishly.
"I am attempting to operate. I will thank you not to interrupt me
again, this is delicate work. One wrong move and she's brain dead",
replied Martin calmly, and coldly.
"Bu...but here?", Phoenix asked again.
"Yes Commander. Here. We don't have time to move her to sick bay.
I need to operate now", replied phoenix. The Ship suddenly jolted and buckled heavily, throwing
Martin over, and disturbing the already injured patient. Martin calmed the fire within him, before he
spoke.
"Keep the ship still!", Martin shouted loudly as to be heard. "Commander Phoenix, please
withdraw. Else this patient will die", Martin said coldly.
"I can't withdraw the ship, we have orders", Phoenix replied.
Martin stood up, and stared him out, while saying coldly. "To Hell with your orders. My patient will
die, and so will many more until you withdraw. You will turn this ship around. I can not operate on
a mass scale, no matter how good a physician I am. If you continue this crew will be beyond my
care", Martin said, slowing down at the end of his sentence.
"I CAN'T", Phoenix shouted back.
Martin took a deep breath, continuing with the surgery. Without looking up he continued. "Well
Commander, I won't want to be the one to tell StarFleet that you have ignored advice from your
most senior officers", Martin was about to continue, when the heart monitor set up by the nurse
bleeped.
"Well..", Phoenix responded. "I suppose I will turn the ship arou-".
"Mr Phoenix I am currently engaged. Nurse Peters, 200 Milligrams, adrenalin. Hurry. Charge the
defibrillator, shock at 250", Martin ordered with the bridge watching as the ship sped away at warp
9.
Nurse Peters handed the defibrillator to Martin. "Clear. Shock", the young Ensign's chest jolted.
"Again. Clear. Shock", she jolted again, yet the drone from the monitor continued. "400 Milligrams
Nurse, charge at 400", Nurse peters injected her again. "Clear. Shock", the Monitor bleeped
again. "We have her back. We must perform the surgery immediately Nurse. 500 milligrams of
Indefzriline, follow with 600 Denizen. We have to stabilise her brain pattern".
Martin looked down at the patient lying on the bridge deck. He looked at the tools he held in his
hand, and began the surgery. Many a crewmember was willing to watch as he proceeded. "Nurse,
hypostimulater", ordered Martin, extending his arm to receive the tool. He then gripped it tight,
while applying it to the Ensigns brain. He then began reconstructing the skull, clearly visible, as he
pulled a piece out, and then remoulded it to the existing skull.
"I believe I have stopped the bleeding. She is stable, we need to get her to sickbay now, lord
knows what she could of picked up on an unsterilised floor. Commander Phoenix, thank you, and
see to someone clearing up that blood", Martin did not laugh, but instead stared a wonning.
"Beam her to sickbay now if you will, followed by myself and my staff".
She acknowledged, and Martin, his staff and the patient soon disappeared into blue simmering
particles.

Reeves stood unwavering at the sight of the doctor operating on the
woman. He had seen worse but he didn't want to think about that now.
He turned to the matter at hand. He calmed himself down, he tended to
get overly exited in battle which was why he slipped during the BatleH
tourny. He didn't want to think about that either.
The Aliens had just about annihilated the Rainmaker, and the Captain
allmost let it....well not his fault really -Sensored- Starfleet had
ordered him to engage regardless. Reeves knew better than to question
a superior officer so he let it go.
Reeves: Sir, I believe that in order to win a battle where you are
outnumbered is to make the enemy beilive he is outnumbered. It has
been my thoughts during the past few hours that if we modified a few
of the fighters aboard with a holomask type feature where we could
modify it to resemble several of Starfleets larger ships such as a
Soveriegn. With these we might be able to trick the aliens into giving
us a little space and time while we gather weaknesses which the
fighters could also do, while in space. Just a thought.

"Give me full damage report!" the CO said to Debora.
She was awefully glad he stopped screaming by now. The

"Sir, nothing changed. Shields down, they have beamed

Debora's cheecks went red. "_Sir_," she said, clearly,
icy. "I have no clue who put you in command of this
vessel, but all due respect: Do not say such things.
The primary thing you learn as an Officer at the
Academy is that you never, and I once again emphasise
_never_ show your doubts or speak them out loud. You
have ordered the retreat, we're getting out of here. I
will contact DS6 for reinforcements. Now you, once
again with all respect, will command this vessel as
you should. You are the boss and you are responsible
for everyone here. Give your orders, _sir_!"
Debora didn't even await Commander Pheonix' responce
and turned back to her work of contacting DS6. She sent out a
message, but has no clue whether it reached
it's destination.
with this Pheonix got to his feet know that what she had just said
was wright but still saying this in fourt of the crew and on the
brighe was not the rigth place to do it.
Just as he was about to give her a mouth full the viewer screen came
on that made him turn around. and to his shouck it was one of the
aliens it was hard to tell because of how dark it was, but they where
the only ones in range.

easssyer when it comesssss to usssss. Now I will be give you 1 minint
to give your ship and i will share you and your crew lives you have 1

The view screen went blank.
Pheonix turned around and sat down. He had to think and add to think
fast on what he sould do. Then it hit him.
He jumped to his feet.
Pheonix: Wonning see if u can work out where that trainmission is
coming from and do it fast.
[tags Wonning]
he then looks over to the Tactical staion
Pheonix: Mr Logan get realy a torpedo set to a high frecainy.
Logan looked at him in a puzzled.
Logan: but that will do little or no damgie.
Pheonix: it may do that but it will light them up like a chirstmas

Reeves had heard the aliens had beamed aboard and he had ordered men
to key locations, he hoped it would stall time enough to get together
the ramining marines and do a deck by deck sweep. It would work
eventually. He reached the barracks and ordered the remaining marines
to gear up with anything left in the storage. They had five minutes.
Their five minutes were up and they stood at attention all 20 of them.
Reeves:Let's go.
He walked out the door and into the tubolift his men followed a few
had to stay behind to catch the next lift. They went to the first deck
and held position waiting for the rest of the men phasers at the
ready..

Pheonix:=/\= Can we eject the core =/\=
Scott run over to a console.
Scott:=/\= Yes we can =/\=.
<NOW FOR THE CONCLUSION>
*Phoenix run over to Logan and checked to see if he was Still alive
and he was still alive.
=/\= Medical teams to the Bridge =/\=
Pheonix: (To him self) Its time to make them pay!
Pheonix: Helm turn us around and fly use strage at the ship. Full
power to shields. =/\= Scott be ready to eject the core =/\=
=/\= All hands this is the captain hold on to something we are in
for a bumpy ride =/\=
* The ship came about and the alien ship was taking shots at the
Raimaker but the weekned shields where holding*
*On the bridge the ship was rocking all over the place, console
where exsoploding and bits where going every where.
A voice came from the helm: Sir we are coming in to range.
Pheonix: OK put all power to the impulse engins. =/\= Scott stand by.
Wonning: we will be in range in 5, 4, 3,
Pheonix: =/\= NOW Scott =/\=
*The core was ejected out of the ship right next to the alien ship.
The Rainmaker was pulling out of range as fast as the ship could get
away.
Wonning: Its no good we are not going to make it to a saft distance.
Pheonix: Get use as far as we and then pull as much power to the
shields and hull.
*One last torpedo for the alien shi[p hit the hull and with the
shield all most nill the torpedo went strate through the of the right
side primary hull and sent the ship in to a spin.
Wonning: warp core will blow in 10 seconds.
Pheonix: All power to the shields and hull.
* Pheonix took his seat in the captains chair.
=/\= All hands get ready for impaced =/\=
*2 seconds after that the warp core blow only about 10 meters from
the alien ship. The warp core explose riped strage through the ship
it was cut in two. The rainmaker from its distance took a lot still
main power went of line and every one was frown from where they where.
* The ship was adrift no lights were on and power was out all over
the ship. The last thing that Pheonix could rember was lifting of the
floor was the graverty was off.
*even though may of the crew where out cold some where still up and
about and had lifesport up again but that was all they could do in
its mess.
* The USS Ruebens James B dropped out of warp only 30mins after what
had gone on.
"give me a full report" order the Vulcan Captain.
Ops: Looks like we maybe to late i am reading a warp core drech and
there is parts of ships all over the place.
*The Vulcan in his chair put his hands togerther thingking of his
next coruse of ackion. But then can a voice behind him.
Ops: Ship I am picking up the rainmaker it looks like its more or
less in one pices.
Vulcan: Well begine the recuio operation. Set up a 2nd sick bay in 10
