Grab the style that suits you, and go for it.
I mean I could get all specific on you but I'm not really that kind of guy, poetry is hard enough without someone telling you want
you got to wax lyrical about.
Through an ancient door she crept, down a dusty hall,
“I wonder” the woman thought, “Have I been here before?
Around a corner. then a bend, o’er clutter she did crawl
Shift s and changes did abound, in this corridor.
From the floor a dark mist rose , obscuring things from view
Hiding objects in her path, gripping her with fear.
Her progress faltered, Cara froze, not knowing what to do.
She was feeling all was lost and that the end was near.
She closed her eyes to calm herself, her hands upon her knees
Delving deep within her soul, for courage to embrace.
A gentle warmth, feeling sublime , a blissful bit of peace.
From bended knee, up to her feet, a smile played on her face.
A few more steps, then some more, her pace a careful one.
The fog it thinned, a light is seen, a sweet scent on the wind.
Coming out from ‘neath a cloud, she saw the noon day sun.
Tropic trees, fragrant flowers, at her a sailor grinned.
The man he leaned against a tree, the woman he did spy
Watching as she turned about, the sea dog did admire.
The garb he wore, caught her view, towards him she drew nigh.
Reaching out he pulled her close, his lips filled with desire.
Cara gasped, and then she wheezed, his kisses were so foul
The taste it was of rotted fish , grog and turpentine
“Unhand me fool, you stinky fiend, let go or you will howl
“I’ll make you crawl away from me to whimper and to whine.”
The sailor laughed, at her words, what could this toffer do?
This ladybird, he won’t release, he stroked an ebon curl.
“Now now me lass, my sweet haybag, a dance, a pint or two?”
“Mugs of rum, some good cheer, you’ll not think me a churl.”
He pulled her tight, against his chest, his strength was from the sea.
In Cara’s eyes, a fury blazed , her gaze a white hot flame.
Without warning she attacked, no longer would she plea.
Upon his nose, her forehead struck, she didn’t miss her aim.
His grip released, she stepped back, onlookers they did stare.
Seeing such a sturdy man, plummet to the ground.
Moving back once again, to him an icy glare,
The dark haired beauty, with a nod ,turned herself around.
Her forward progress it did halt, in front of her he stood.
A tall man with golden hair, uniformed in blue.
“If you don’t mind I’d like to leave, so sir if you would,
I’d like to go away from here, before the day is through.”
He listened to her lovely voice, saw her bewitching eyes,
To her he bowed with courtly grace, allowing her to go.
With gratitude her face did shine, her spirit it did rise.
Through the massive crowd she moved, going with the flow.
Dark mist curled and swallowed her, this time there was no fear.
Forward, with new bravery, her hopes bright and new.
A determined look in her eye, her path to her was clear.
Now she knew she’ll make her way, this trial she will review.
